Meet our owner & CEO

Lee Blakely

Lee is the owner of Experience Holy City and made the move to Charleston in April 2009, when she started her first job in the hospitality industry with a local linen company. She has worked in all aspects of the hospitality industry from venue management to wedding planning, and joined the Destination Management world in 2016. 

Lee is a 2008 graduate from Clemson University with a major in Communications with a focus on Travel and Tourism. Lee and her husband David love spending time with their 2 sons, Tucker and Remi and cheering on her Clemson Tigers!   

Lee takes pride in being dependable and trustworthy with her clients, and is passionate about her company and the community!

Taylor McKenzie

Taylor is almost a Charlestonian, growing up in Charleston after her family moved here when she was 6 years old. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Hospitality Management and a Concentration in Meetings & Events, and always knew she wanted to be in the events industry. 

After graduating, Taylor managed two wedding & event venues (where she met Lee!), and from there worked in numerous fields in the hospitality industry ranging from hotels, wedding planning, catering sales and joined another Destination Management Company in 2018. Taylor loves to travel, experience new restaurants, and spend as much time as she can outside! 

Taylor and her husband Cody are huge animal lovers and enjoy spending time with their dogs, cats, and chickens.

Taylor is a logistical queen, and loves to detail out her events ensuring nothing is missed and the experience is truly one of a kind!

Marcie Gurany

Marcie's journey in Charleston began in 2015 when she enrolled at the College of Charleston, diving head first into a duel degree in Hospitality Management and Marketing. Her time abroad in England was a highlight, where she studied Business Management for International Events, gaining a global perspective. Not to mention her semester at the Disney Collage Program, adding a sprinkle of magic to her education and experience!

Post-graduation, Marcie jumped into various roles; from luxury wedding sales and venue management to orchestrating private dining events. Her passion lies in connecting with people and creating relationships that span beyond the event itself. 

Her favorite past-time is traveling around the world (but more specifically, planning those trips... very type-A at heart)!

Brittany Crowe

Brittany moved to Charleston in 2007 to attend the College of Charleston. She is a dynamic individual who wears two hats with passion. By day, She is a dedicated middle school PE teacher and coach. By night, she transforms into a meticulous wedding planner, devoted to turning dreams into reality. She has combined her love for fitness and celebration with boundless energy and attention to detail! She worked for a local high-end catering company for 10 years before transitioning into the planning side. She loves working with couples and taking away any stress they may have through the process.

She thrives on making each wedding an unforgettable experience, ensuring every couple’s journey to “I do” is a perfect blend of calm and excitement!
